Welcome, Aaron! What attracted you to join Coast Digital and what were your first impressions in your first few weeks?
I have always been aware of Coast Digital being one of the leading agencies around, and I’ve always been a big advocate of great company culture within a working environment. At Coast, it’s very apparent this is the case as there are people who have been working here for over 10 years!
Everyone has been super friendly and welcoming and the onboarding process has been great. You can tell that everyone is really thought about and for me, it’s been a positive experience from all-round.
What attracted you to a career in digital marketing in the first place?
From my early days in high school to university, I’ve always had an interest in business and I like to think I have a flair for creativity. These two combined seem to provide a powerhouse for digital marketing, as you need to understand the business needs but also need to be innovative and everchanging, especially in our ecosphere.
PPC especially can be quite challenging at times, but also very rewarding when you’re able to provide great results for your clients. Particularly when the campaign is something you created, from the initial idea all the way through to the execution.
What does your previous experience include and what does that bring to Coast Digital?
I have over 3 years’ experience working in an agency focused on PPC. I’ve since worked in-house for one of the world’s largest sports betting and gaming groups and then into the real estate industry, gaining valuable insights along the way.
I also have experience in:
- Google Analytics
- Google Tag Manager
In all of these roles, the focus has been on PPC, and I have been able to provide a positive impact while also building on my own knowledge.
These skills are all transferrable to Coast, where I’m looking forward to bringing my expertise and working alongside some great clients!
How do you see the role of a PPC Specialist and what do you think is the key to being successful at it?
To succeed in PPC, it’s essential to know your customer, conduct thorough research and competitor analysis, and gather as much data as you can to identify the ideal audience and help you make sure campaigns are tailored towards them.
Also, don’t panic! I’m sure we’ve all been in a situation where it seems like there are fires, if a website goes down or the budget has been cut by 70% for example, so it’s important to be responsive to these issues and be proactive in finding solutions.
What’s exciting in digital right now?
Marketing in the Metaverse, powered by cryptocurrency and NFTs, this virtual world seems to be promoted as ‘the next big thing’. As consumer behaviour is constantly evolving, users are increasingly turning to the internet to purchase, work, learn, shop and play.
