Current landscape measurement

We use a combination of data from multiple sources, helping us to understand: the file size of every single page on your website, the amount of carbon dioxide created per load, the total emissions based on your real-world visitor analytics, and an estimate of how much we think we could reduce your digital carbon footprint. We also give you an indication of the number of trees you would need to plant, if you want to offset the emissions caused by your website.

Opportunities for improvement

Based on the initial audit of your site, we work to identify improvements that should be made to reduce the file size of web pages, reducing load on your server and the amount of energy needed to load the page, all while retaining the current user experience. This information is collated into an impact/effort report, so you can see how quickly changes can be made.

Implementing change

Once we've agreed on the best course of action, our sustainability experts and developers work in tandem to implement changes, with some improvements possible to achieve overnight. We can also work with your in-house developers, if required. Everything we do to reduce the carbon footprint of your site also improves your site speed, creating a better experience for all in-bound marketing channels and helping to improve SEO.

Measuring improvement

When we've finished optimising your website, we run our audit process again, and update you on the reduction in your carbon footprint. We also update any offset requirements, helping you to know how best to approach this. Finally, if we identify further changes that could be made, we will communicate these and arrange to make further recommendations if needed.
